Ursula and Glenn,
Thank you for a great three-night stay! The room was great, and the breakfasts substantial and delicious. We enjoyed the fireplace and the big tub - and one thing we never experienced at any other B&B was having our room tidied up and fresh towels provided while we were out! Thanks, too, for you TLC and compassion when I was a bit under the weather. You went "above and beyond" you role as hosts!

Dear Glenn and Ursula,
You have such a beautiful home and we really enjoyed our stay in the "Cat's Meow". Thank you so much for your warm hospitality and delicious food. We have stayed in other B&B's, but yours, by far, is the best! We enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, meeting new people and all of the good conversations with you both. You certainly  know how to make your guests comfortable and you are perfect hosts.

We have so enjoyed our relaxing stay in this charming and cozy cabin! So many thoughtful touches are in each nook and cranny - from magazines to gameboards, lap blankets and even bubble bath! Your lush gardens beckoned to us to stroll through them. Each day we discovered something new. And, your black kitty's curiosity and stalking of the fish made us chuckle. Your breakfasts each day were simply delicious and we enjoyed getting to know you both. Thank you for opening your home to us - we feel blessed that you shared it with us.
Best regards,

Dear Glenn and Ursula,
Thank you for your beautiful cabin and all the details you have provided for ...just in case we might want them. This is the best honeymoon location that I can imagine. Your home-cooked breakfasts were outstanding, and we love your pool, landscaping and home. Having grown up in the countryside I especially loved the rustic cabin details. My husband definitely knows good taste when he sees it! Our first honeymoon nights here were a surprise for me and he has been anticipating it for half a year now. I could not be happier with our accommodations. We plan to be back for anniversaries and look forward to recommending your place to others. Thank you so much!!

One special day in both of our lives has been captured and will always remain at the Old Marshall House. I can't think of a more special place I could have arranged  for Missie to celebrate her 40th birthday. You both have done an incredible job making this a retreat for the human soul. I didn't want to leave a note stating basically the same things others have left behind so I will just say this.....The Old Marshall House displayed in array, makes for a special place to spend a day...It holds, in all its history and love, relaxation and  peace from above...It feels like home and is a place to rest and out of all the places we've been this is the best !!!...The innkeepers enhance the personality here, with all the beauty to surround you and bring you cheer...We will always have June 16th to store in our minds...The Old Marshall House is the greatest find...God Bless you Ursula and Glenn! Thanks for everything.

Most importantly, we really enjoyed talking with the two of you. It was fun to have you join us for breakfast. It was really great to have two couples with the same wedding date here at the same time (5/16 and 26 years) God bless you.

Glenn and Ursula,
Meeting you and staying in your Cat's Meow Cabin was more of a blessing than ever expected . It was a very special aspect of this trip to attend George Jones' University. I leave in awe of how well you use your gift of hospitality! Thank you for all you do to make guests feel at home. I also leave in awe of your care for this property. Both the inside and outside are very inspiring and are a testament to you hard working, dedicated people. I am so impressed with your ability to update the cabin and retain its historic charm. You are very gifted and I am thankful that God blessed you and entrusted you to be the stewards of the old Marshall property. Also, thank you for the wonderful breakfasts. You were so nice making them early so we could get to our classes on time. You both were such a blessing to me. May our Lord continue to bless you.

Glenn and Ursula,
You have created a lovely retreat from the busy, busy world out there. I come to Nashville on business and was lucky to have found your B & B listed on the Internet. What a pleasant surprise to see how secluded- yet within and easy drive to anywhere- and peaceful the Old Marshall House is. As I often travel alone, where I stay is important. With your extremely interesting backgrounds and relaxed, natural way of living, you both have made my stay stress-free. The breakfast conversations with you and the guests will remain as beautiful memories. The breakfast food - fabulous - can't pick a favorite. Loved having Emma's Room with its soothing views of the countryside. No cars! No noise! And for entertainment - appearing at all times and in different places -  five cats in beautiful variations of black and white and each with a unique personality. May you both enjoy many more years of happiness together and of sharing your home with others. Happy Thanksgiving!

It's hard to leave these beautiful surroundings and best old house we've ever stayed in! We've been at B & B's all over the U.S and yours was everything a B & B should be! Real people, great conversation, a gracious host family (and extra treat - granddaughters visiting!), scrumptious food, beautiful gardens, quiet in the country, kitties greeting us and the most wonderful room in the house! Thank You! We loved our huge, comfortable bed and bath and the "aura" we felt the minute we walked in. Thank you for your guidance and directions around the area and for your warmth and hospitality and genuineness. God Bless and may you enjoy many more years and success here! We hope to return!

I could go on about the comfortable bed and the 8 1/2 hours of great sleep, or the sweet chocolates and fun tub. But the best thing about our stay was the absolute quiet. To Ursula and Glenn,
I tried to think of what to write to let the both of you know, as I'm sure that you already do, how special this little cabin is to visit. We left a very hustle and bustle sort of life in St. Louis and arrived here to things that were much more simple here. We enjoyed almost every minute of our stay...the only moments of our stay that we didn't enjoy were our last few as we were about to leave and go back to our busy lives! Breakfast was great and the company even better! Thank you both for everything!

it was my husband's birthday, and we have a 5-month old baby girl. I thought this would be a well needed birthday present for him. I soon found out it was a well needed getaway for myself as well. This is the most relaxed we've felt since we had our daughter. Everything we needed was all here! The tub is perfect!. We also enjoyed very much our breakfast and talk about the old house and how you did everything in the yard. We so enjoyed our time in your charming cabin! You have obviously put much time and effort in your lovely home and grounds, and we have been fortunate to experience the peace and tranquility that abound here. And breakfast was delicious, and the conversation enjoyable. What a treasure this place is! Thanks again - Lindy and Page Thompson/Franklin, TN

Ursula and Glenn, I don't know how Chuck found this B&B, but I am glad he did. It was such a wonderful surprise to get to spend a few days relaxing with my husband away from the jobs, kids and dog. What a great way to celebrate our 7th anniversary.

Dear Glenn and Ursula,
What a wonderful home. The two of you have worked very hard and made this into a wonderful place for many people to relax and enjoy all of its surroundings. It is always fun to hang out with the two of you. Your friends are great. This is the kind of place that poets, artists and singers dream to write and paint about. Thanks again.
With our love,

A life time of loving each other has taken us many places: soaring high above the Grand Canyon, climbing deep in the rocks of Zion, relaxing in the fields of the mid-west. Our best discovery yet is what we learned of ourselves here at your little piece of heaven.  Of all the places we've been, this place is extra special. I wanted the weekend to be extra special, and no doubt this will be a treasured memory. Thanks for sharing your home. Everything was wonderful!

Wow! What a great 43rd anniversary. Loved the Victorian Room, the comfortable bed, the tub and what a great breakfast. We could never forget the great hospitality, the interesting talks, the feeling of your love. What a peaceful place with all the beauty. Loved the cats. What a beauty from all your hard work. We cannot say enough thanks for making us feel so welcome. May God Bless You Both! Love,

We think the name of the cabin is perfect - because it truly is "The Cat's Meow"! Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us and for helping make our 30th anniversary so special. The breakfasts were delicious, and we so enjoyed the wonderful conversations at the breakfast table. Thanks for making us feel so at home. May God continue to bless you both.

Dear Glenn and Ursula,
We both had to drop you a note to thank you for the wonderful experience at the Old Marshall House in February of this year. We really felt right at home there. Your gracious hospitality made us feel as though we were visiting friends. Whenever Paula and I travel we stay at B & B's, and yours will always be remembered as the best. You will be highly recommended, and we will be back for sure. Until then - thanks again.

Dear Ursula and Glenn,
Thank you both for your warm, hospitable welcome. Your home is beautiful. The breakfasts were unbelievably delicious, the Victorian Room very romantic, the tub great fun. This time we have had has allowed us some alone time in our busy lives and long distance love affair. The cats helped make it all cozy. We both would love to come back.
Sincerely,
Laura from Hendersonville, TN and Michael from Pittsford, NY

Dear Glenn and Ursula,
thank you for being such wonderful custodians of what will always -in my heart - be "Papa's House". I could not have found in all the world two people who love this place like family - and you will always be FAMILY to all the Marshall descendants. Thank you for caring so much and for giving me the best gift for my 80th birthday - of making it possible to once again stay in my grandfather's house.

How blessed we are to have a week in the cabin. Spring was all around us with many nights on the porch and a warm fire inside. This is one of those special places that we will always hold dear...
Great hosts, great food and time to relax.

Glenn and Ursula - Dear friends, we have certainly enjoyed our time with you! It's the ideal - a country feeling, but near enough to activities, food, Nashville (if one desires). We would prefer to sit in the swing , etc. and chat with the two of you and the other pleasant guests. I know you both work hard to make it seem easy! It's appreciated. But anyway, we have had a wonderful visit and will return. Paul says this has become his favorite place! Best wishes until we see you again.

We are so grateful to have another opportunity to stay at your B+B. What great memories we are making here. This was a perfect way to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, because this is where our marriage first began. You both have done a terrific job with the landscaping. It is so peaceful out here! Dear Ursula and Glenn, Thank you for helping Jim make our 25th wedding anniversary celebration a most enchanting event! The cabin is and was a splendid getaway - most romantic novel material. The breakfast was oh, so delicious! And meeting the two of you has enriched our lives! You are special people. You are so very gifted and talented. I see your special abilities in the house and garden and cabin, too. Again, thanks for the cat's paws (footprints) you have left in our hearts. The name "Cat's Meow" for the cabin was so very significant for us personally and I thought Jimmy had named it himself until I saw the brochure. I hope we see you again very soon. Sincerely,

We just got back from four days of Tennessee heaven at the Old Marshall House. If you are viewing this guestbook, and looking for the PERFECT B & B, you have found it! We stayed in the Cat's Meow, and found it relaxing, comforting, and utterly charming. The scenery is breathtaking, and the home and cabin are beautiful, cozy, and inviting. Glenn and Ursula will become your friends, and spoil you with their care and hospitality. We celebrated our one year anniversary here, and it couldn't have been more enjoyable! We will be back every year! Thank You Glenn and Ursula! Also, thank you Pinucha ( she's a little furry, kitty - friend we made, that greeted us with affection at every turn! ). Our purpose was to "get away" and what a fantastic place to do so! We enjoyed our visit to Nashville - truly a hospitable town - but the best part was staying here. We just needed a place to relax and unwind - get away from the kids and all that. We loved celebrating our 10th Anniversary here - so beautiful! Thanks for the long 'history lesson' and all the chats. Breakfast was delicioso! The room was wonderful and if we could figure out how to put the tub in the back of our compact car, we'd do it. Well, off to the snowy North again. Thanks for the memories.
